Serving Washington State with Compliant Spill Response & Cleanup
Vehicle fuel spills pose serious risks to public safety, road infrastructure, and the environment. Unfortunately, a lot of these incidents happen on busy roadways. FleetEasy recently responded to a significant diesel spill involving about 50 gallons of diesel fuel. This diesel spill cleanup required immediate containment, professional cleanup, and full site restoration.
In this article, we’ll share how we handled this spill recovery. But first, here’s why fleets can trust FleetEasy as their partner in repairs, recovery and spill response.
Why FleetEasy is an Authority in Spill Response
FleetEasy is a trusted authority in diesel spill response and roadway remediation across Washington State. Our spill recovery division, Pro-Enviro by FleetEasy, has a decade of hands-on experience managing complex spill accidents on highways, industrial sites, and commercial and private properties.
Our trained diesel spill cleanup team follows proven containment and cleanup procedures, uses professional-grade equipment, and makes real-time on-site decisions to prevent environmental damage and penalties for those involved.
No matter the type or size of spill, FleetEasy brings the knowledge, field experience, and equipment needed to restore impacted areas safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.
Dispatched on Ready to Roll to Federal Way
Upon receiving the call, FleetEasy dispatched our specialized spill-response vehicles and equipment, including a vacuum-equipped unit, to the spill site. Once at the Federal Way location, our lead responder connected directly with the driver, assessed the extent of the spill, and developed a clear cleanup plan before operations began.
Large-Volume Diesel Spill Cleanup
Used absorbent pads from the driver.
The response began with the removal of the used absorbent pads that the driver had put down to try to contain the spill. All materials were collected and disposed of in approved debris bags to prevent further contamination.
Pro-Enviro by FleetEasy then treated the affected roadway using professional-grade absorbent products designed specifically for fuel spills. The area was swept thoroughly and re-treated as needed.
During the spill cleanup, the leaky truck was moved, causing more diesel to spill! Team Pro-Enviro immediately contained the spill and patched the cracked tank with a golf ball and industrial putty to keep the fuel in, not out. An unconventional, but effective fix!

Lather, Rinse, Repeat for Roadway Restoration
Our team used a targeted liquid treatment compound to break down remaining diesel. The product was brushed into the surface and pressure-washed repeatedly, three or four times, until the roadway was fully cleaned and restored.
With big spill cleanup jobs like this one, you must come prepared. This job needed multiple absorbent pads, 50-gallon debris bags, grease sweep, liquid treatment agents, and specialized containment supplies.
After the cleanup was completed, all equipment was returned, unloaded, and properly staged. Our team completed the documentation required for compliance, reporting, and insurance.
